Thank You Unilever Foundation!
Young women at the Pedersen-McCormick Club will continue to cultivate self-esteem, learn how to care for themselves and develop positive relationships thanks to the support of the Unilever Foundation. The Foundation recently awarded a $5,000 grant to the Club to support its SMART Girls program.
The Unilever Foundation is dedicated to improving quality of life through the provision of hygiene, sanitation, access to clean drinking water, basic nutrition and enhancing self-esteem. As a part of the ongoing relationship between the Dove Self-Esteem Movement, girls at the McCormick Club can continue to benefit from the SMART Girls program. Through dynamic weekly sessions, highly participatory activities, field trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women, Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
Thanks to Unilever’s commitment to Boys & Girls Club’s SMART Girls program, through its foundation and Dove master brand, the SMART Girls program has enhanced the lives of our young female members and has helped them to adapt to the many changes that they experience as they transition into adulthood.
SMART Girls enjoy learning to cook healthy meals.
